Welsh driving-test pass rates beat UK national average, but there are concerns over driving test changes. Veygo, part of the Admiral Insurance group based in Cardiff, showed Park Avenue Test Centre in Aberystwyth, is the top place to take your driving test, with 65% now passing their test at the centre. This marks the highest pass rate on record for the centre. With only 35% of all learners … [Read more...]
E-scooters should be off Christmas lists
Loss adjuster CMA has seen a steady rise in e-scooter related claims over two years, mostly collisions involving other motorists, but also thefts. The increase is in line with Department for Transport figures showing the number of collisions involving e-scooters rose from 460 in 2020 to 1,352 in 2021. Earlier this month, a boy of 12 was killed in Birmingham, prompting the deputy lord mayor to … [Read more...]

Time to save lives again, says RoSPA

RoSPA is calling for the UK to learn from the 1968 trial and save lives by scrapping clock changes in October and employing British Summer Time (BST) – GMT+1 – all year round. Throughout the experiment, road … [Read more...]

The Welsh are worriers behind the wheel. There are now over 25.8m cars on the road in the UK today, that’s nearly one for every two people and the figure is increasing at a rate of around 600,000 every year. Even given the vast number of vehicles on the road, you’ll rarely encounter someone who openly admits they’re a bad driver. This led us to wonder, how do people’s perceptions of … [Read more...]
Cars that read your mind are just around the corner
Driverless cars will become smoother and more intuitive after scientists developed technology to make them behave like humans. One of the stumbling blocks with autonomous cars has been their inability to interpret visual cues from pedestrians, making them overly cautious. So when a person begins to cross the street but changes their mind a driverless car might just just stop and wait. But … [Read more...]
