Lampeter & District Motor Club hosted the latest round of the Welsh Road Rally Championship, the Rali Bro Caron last weekend, and attracted a full entry of 90 cars.
With midnight striking on the Lampeter town hall clock the first cars started the challenging event with the first half of the route heading west towards Aberaeron.
Leaders at the petrol halt at Llanwnen were Irfon Richards and Max Freeman in their Escort while John Davies was second in his Vauxhall Astra some 40 seconds adrift and Dale Furniss in third position in a VW Golf.
The second half saw the crews head east of Lampeter and with the pace hotting up Davies raised his pace and finished first with his co-driver Aled Richards in the Vauxhall Astra GTE.
Richards and Freeman were excluded for a give way infringement.
Runners up on the event were last year’s winning crew of Steff Davies and Justin Davies in an Escort Mk2 who climbed from 4th at petrol to finish just 15 seconds adrift of the Astra of Davies after a good battle in the second half of the rally.
Third overall went to Tomos Lewis / Dafydd Sion Lloyd in another Escort a further minute adrift.
