Apple may have a solution for confusion when it comes to warning light symbols with its latest iPhone iOS 17 software update that includes a feature which can help people easily identify car dashboard warning light symbols.
Dashboard warning lights are supposed to assist owners in identifying vehicle issues. However, since there are so many, they can often leave car users puzzled, especially new drivers.
The new iPhone feature, ‘Visual Look Up,’ uses image recognition to explain everyday objects and the recent update has enabled the tool to recognise dashboard warning and car maintenance symbols. It should not be used when the car’s in motion.
Founder and Managing Director of ALA Insurance, Simon England, said, “Understanding warning light symbols isn’t just a matter of passing your theory test; it’s about ensuring a safer and more reliable driving experience.
“Overlooking these indicators can be dangerous, leaving your vehicle exposed and your journey uncertain, potentially resulting in accidents or even write-offs.
“The iPhone’s new dashboard warning light feature could be a great help for those who aren’t too car-savvy. It offers a convenient guide for quick checks, but always double-check for accuracy, and remember that regular car maintenance remains essential.”
