Transport for Wales says the Rhymney valley railway line will undergo major enhancements as part of the next electrified phase of the South Wales Metro.

A new survey has uncovered how UK drivers feel about breaking down at night, shedding light on safety concerns and confidence levels when dealing with vehicle issues after dark.
The study by breakdown cover provider ALA Insurance found that a significant percentage of UK motorists feel vulnerable when stranded on the roadside at night, over half (56%) feel unsafe in sparse rural areas and this feeling is also echoed on unlit roads (55%), highlighting concerns about isolation and visibility, while motorways also rank poorly, with 55% feeling unsafe, possibly due to the risks associated with high-speed traffic and limited access to help.
The forthcoming Volkswagen ID1 small electric car will be built in Portugal, but there will not be SEAT, Skoda or Cupra versions, says the company because profit margins will be very slim.
