Over 60 dealers will be selling the new Kia electric van later this year.
Gravells Kidwelly and Wessex Cardiff franchises are among the first in the network.
The PV5 went on sale in the UK on 1 May after a UK unveil at the CV Show where Kia announced early UK pricing and specifications.
The Kia PV5 is available in a variety of standard formats: Cargo; Passenger; Crew; Chassis Cab; and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle – each offered with an industry leading seven-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard and priced from £27,645 (+VAT) for the PV5 Cargo L2/H1.
The PV5 Cargo further qualifies for the current government OZEV Plug-in Van Grant reducing the price by a further £5,000.
Kia first revealed its PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) business plans in its global ‘Plan S’ business strategy, announced in January 2020. Following the PV5, a larger commercial vehicle, the Kia PV7, is planned for 2027 and the Kia PV9 is planned for 2029.
Pre-orders for the PV5 Cargo and Passenger are now open, with first UK customer deliveries expected in Q4 2025.
There will be two grades in each and two power packs offering up to 247 miles range on test cycles.
Initially, Kia UK plans to sell between 3-4,000 units of PV5 in its first full year from PBV Centres, backed by the versatility and flexible options available. Kia plans to incrementally build year-on-year to around 17,000 PBV sales by 2030 in the UK.
Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia UK, said, “The new PBV Centre network will be built on the back of our successful partnership with our dealer network and the vast majority of our new PBV Centres will be managed by an existing partner.
“The new network will be formed of a combination of standalone facilities; linked to multi-brand van centres; or at existing Kia locations. We will capitalise on our fleet and business expertise within our network, and are looking to operate very much under the same franchise principles we employ across our car business that have earned praise from our partners and customers alike.”
