Used car sales for the UK’s Top 200 dealers showed signs of recovery in May after a dramatic slide in the previous month.
Data from our used car partner CarCondor.co.uk showed sales of second-hand cars jumped by 2.9 per cent to 164,138 in the fifth month of the year and follows a poor performance in April which saw sales plummet 10.54 per cent to 159,478, reports Car Dealer Magazine.
New electric car sales grew by 38% year-on-year in May, as the UK’s new car market continues to recover from a disappointing 2022, said New Automotive.
Electric car sales were responsible for around 18% of all new registrations (up 5 percentage points from May 2022), meaning just under one in five new cars sold in May was fully electric and Ben Nelmes, Chief Executive Officer at New AutoMotive, said.” “The UK government’s plans for a ZEV Mandate will be critical to securing this future growth. Ministers should be racing to get the legislation through Parliament in time for the scheme’s entry into force on 1st January.”
Speakers from Aston Martin and JCB will address this year’s WAF Autolink industry conference on 20 September.
The event will once again be held at Cardiff City Stadium for professionals in the Welsh automotive manufacturing and services supplier sectors.
