Britain’s most polluting and cleanest cars have been revealed.
But they are nowhere near as dirty as those on American roads.
In the USA, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk 6.2V8 Supercharged 4×4 emits 3,319kg of CO2 annually, closely followed by the Ford F-150 Raptor and Mercedes-Benz G-Class G 63AMG.
In Britain, the Range Rover Sport 3.0 HSE DV6 pushes out 1,607kg of CO2 a year, the BMW X5 xDrive30d M Sport emits 1,590kg and surprisingly the next bad boy is the Mazda MX-5 with 1,451kg.

Britain’s cleanest cars are naturally led by electric models and two out of the top three are from Nissan.
The least emitting of all is the Volkswagen ID.3 Family with 233kg, while the Nissan Leaf Acenta and N-Connecta models each produce 234kg.
The best petrol engined model on sale in Britain is the Toyota Yaris Icon at 730kg a year.
