Jaguar Land Rover named company veteran and British engineer Nick Rogers as its new engineering director to succeed Wolfgang Ziebart.
Rogers will assume board-level responsibilities for the UK automaker’s global engineering operations reporting directly to CEO Ralf Speth.
Cenex, the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon technologies, will join a UK industry consortium that is to develop a new class of zero-emission, light commercial vehicle.
By integrating fuel cell technology into battery electric vehicles, the consortium will deliver the capability to provide low carbon LCVs with significantly improved range and rapid refuelling.
Renault’s biggest trade union, the CGT, criticized the automaker’s proposal to more than double CEO Carlos Ghosn’s 2014 pay package to 7.22 million euros ($7.85 million) after he announced plans to axe 7,600 jobs over the next 18 months.
The Renault pay will be added to Ghosn’s earnings as CEO of alliance partner Nissan for which he’s paid 995 million yen ($8.34 million at current exchange rates) including salary and bonuses.
