20mph limit opposed outside Wales
Seven out of 10 motorists say that the 20mph speed limit imposed in Wales in September shouldn’t spread across the rest of the UK. Drivers are being forced to slow down on motorways and A-roads in England, as the speed limit has been reduced from 70 to 60 miles per hour along extensive stretches of major roads, according to new analysis from Churchill Motor Insurance. Go Safe mobile enforcement will be starting on the M4 between junctions 33 and 34 today, following an increase in the number speed related collisions. Following the collisions, three speed surveys were conducted at different locations of the M4. Drivers caught exceeding 50mph on the M4 around Newport face fines from today when cameras are switched on a year after being installed.
