A young car Sales Executive who joined Sinclair Volkswagen Swansea at just eighteen years old has scooped a top award from one of the motor industry’s top magazines.
Nineteen year old Cameron Davies has been named a 2016 ‘Motor Trader Rising Star’ in the title’s UK search for the next generation of movers and shakers.
The magazine launched the competition in 2015 to find those people already regarded as outstanding talents, with great business acumen who are seen as an inspiration to their peers.
Cameron, from Morriston in Swansea, joined his local Volkswagen dealership in March 2015 after a brief introduction to sales working at a mobile phone shop.
“I still can’t quite believe that I have won,” said a thrilled Cameron, “It is a real honour to be one of the first Rising Stars, and I am so grateful to my Sales Manager at Sinclair Volkswagen for nominating me – I can’t thank him enough for believing in me.
“Not only am I chuffed to bits to win, but it also confirms that I made the right decision starting a career in car sales. There is a real fun atmosphere at Sinclair Volkswagen and I enjoy dealing with customers every day.”
General Sales Manager at Sinclair Volkswagen Swansea, Gareth Lloyd, added, “Cameron is a fantastic member of our team – at just nineteen he has developed a depth of knowledge and relaxed demeanour that our customers really appreciate, resulting in him outselling many of the more experienced members of the team.”
In his first six months in the role Cameron managed to sell ninety eight cars – almost four cars per week and also received a huge amount of praise from customers saying that the experience was enjoyable and stress-free. This is thanks to Cameron’s polite and respectful approach.
Gareth added, “Cameron has thrown himself in to the role of Sales Executive and his positive, can-do attitude has produced amazing results.
“There is no doubt he will rise far up the career ladder, but, he is a thoroughly nice person and I can think of few people more deserving of the title Rising Star than him.
“He joined the business just twelve months ago and has set out to master as many skills as possible. In doing so he has shown immense willingness and eagerness to learn – a genuinely an exceptional young man.”
