Bentley Motors revealed record financial results for 2022, with operating profits up nearly €1 billion compared to 2018.
The latest annual figures show a profit of €708 million, representing an 82 per cent growth in profit from a four per cent growth in volume while turnover reached €3.38 billion, up 19 per cent over the same period and the announcement follows record sales in 2022, when Bentley delivered 15,174 extraordinary cars – the first time it has retailed more than 15,000 cars in a year.
Almost £3 million worth of classic, collector and performance cars were successfully sold at H&H Classics’ first auction of 2023 including the 1968 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Drophead Coupe, first owned by Sir Michael Caine, was hammered away for £135,000, including premium, at the sale.
With strong demand across all vehicle marques, it was a 1923 Bentley 3 Litre Tourer which was among the top sellers of the day and the former Brooklands race winner sold for £157,500 including fees, more than £17,000 over its lower estimate, while, a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Supersport Targa was another high performer, selling for £72,562 including buyers’ fees – a fantastic £22,500 over its lower estimate.

At the prestigious Fleet News Awards at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, BBC News anchor and 2023 awards host Huw Edwards revealed the MG4 EV as ‘EV Breakthrough of the Year’ and Fleet News lauded MG’s new all-electric hatchback as a true driver’s car, praising its winning combination of excellent range and affordable price point.
