The prestigious and high-profile historic endurance racing series, GT & Sports Car Cup,run by Flavien & Vanessa Marçais has successfully provided the feature race at Castle Combe’s Autumn Classic race meeting for the past four years and proved a firm favourite with competitors and spectators.
Now Castle Combe Racing Club is pleased to announce a closer working collaboration as the GTSCC’s affiliated UK racing club.
This exciting alliance aligns with plans to expand the Wiltshire Circuit Club’s future horizons by utilising its race organisation experience and infrastructure to facilitate other UK racing series and championships.
“The Club views this alliance as particularly appropriate, as the GTSCC is synonymous with Castle Combe Circuit’s formative years when the various marques of 1950s/60s Sports and GT cars seen in its races were familiar sights on the grid at these early meetings.
“In addition, the camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by the GTSCC community resonate with the Club’s values and objectives of providing close, fair and cost-effective motor racing.”
In 2019, CCRC’s board of directors agreed a 3-year plan, one objective of which was to seek opportunities to collaborate with other racing clubs/organisations to utilise in-house facilities and organisational expertise, together with the strength-in-depth the Club has accumulated from many years successful race organisation.
This rolling business plan was set for review & revision annually to suit progress and market changes, but the COVID pandemic severely restricted any progress throughout 2020/21.
Subsequently, opportunities to work in alliance with our friends at the GTSCC historic endurance racing series and popular Mighty Minis 6-round, 12-race championship have provided the Club with significant progress for these expansion plans.
Among the outsourced services CCRC will provide is the facilitation of championship permits, calendar and race entries, from a Motorsport U.K. affiliated racing club of long standing, which together with Media and marketing services will provide these successful independent championships and race series with a complete portfolio of essential administration services on an outsourced basis.
