Wales is going to be one of the most popular driving destinations this weekend.
A “staycation” survey for Wales-based Confused.com found the Welsh Route 66 along the A470 through Snowdonia from Cardiff to Llandudno will be driven by 11% of those questioned.
A similar number plan to explore the Black Mountains range in the sourthern part of Mid-Wales and that means 22% or nearly a quarter of those asked plan to head into Wales over the next days.
It is beaten only by the attractions of the Snake Pass in the Peak District and an equal number want to experience the Cheddar Gorge south of Bristol.
Amanda Stretton at Confused.com, said, “Driving is often portrayed as a chore, especially as a significant proportion of motorists mainly use their car for commuting.
“However, the UK is home to a number of fantastic drives, so there’s no excuse for people not to get out there and experience their very own dream driving adventure.”
