The Welsh Government has been criticised for underwriting Transport for Wales to the tune of £125Million without any conditions.
Commenting on the response to a Written Question from Labour’s Transport Minister, Welsh Conservatives Shadow Transport Minister, Natasha Asghar MS said, “The level of funding given to TfW without any monitoring is growing ever more concerning.
“For the £125 million payment to be given without conditions or oversight is unacceptable.
“This is essentially a blank cheque, TfW are currently sitting last in the UK for overall customer satisfaction and it worries me that Labour have set no performance targets or any conditions for TfW to meet in order to receive the funding.
“The Labour Government cannot write cheques for millions of pounds and not monitor where the money goes, that is irresponsible.”
