Santa is coming to Cardiff next week in his new electric sleigh.
He will test drive his new Renault Zoe electric sleigh around Cardiff on 5 December and needs the help of locals to move him around the city via social media.
He will deliver free gifts to those who tweet #SantaGoesElectric to @RenaultRetailUK while he is in the city and wants to see how far he can get and how many gifts he can deliver on one electric charge.
Santa learned that his 122 million mile Christmas Eve trip around the world generates approximately 40,600 tonnes of greenhouse gases due to the methane output of his nine reindeer so he’s going electric this year in a Renault Zoe!
He will be tracking his journey in London on 4 December, Cardiff on 5 December, Cannock on 6 December and Manchester 7 December.
Traditionally this UK trip would generate 60kg of CO2 equivalent mainly methane from nine reindeer working hard for four days.
Nine hard working reindeer will need to consume about 7,328 calories per mile – that is 179 carrots per mile, or MPC, which at 6p per carrot costs £10.72 per mile.
