Cyclists and communities across Wales will benefit from £4.5m of new Welsh Government investment in cycling tourism infrastructure, as part of wider work designed to leave a lasting health, sporting and economic legacy from the Tour de France Grand Départ arriving in Wales in 2027.
The Tour de France will be free to spectate and is expected to bring over one million visitors to Welsh stages and reach a global television audience of 150 million viewers, across 190 countries and the new investment intends to build on this opportunity.
An award-winning rail safety campaign by Transport for Wales has delivered rail safety education workshops to 50,000 pupils, contributing to a 23% drop in trespass incidents across the South Wales Metro lines.
Launched in summer 2023, the No Second Chances campaign was designed to reduce anti-social behaviour and trespass on the railway, particularly among young people.

The Croeso i Bawb grant scheme is being launched today to support practical improvements that help remove barriers for disabled visitors and those travelling with them and will help businesses make changes that enable more people to plan and enjoy their visit with confidence, while supporting the Welsh Government’s wider ambition to make Wales a more accessible and welcoming destination for everyone.
