Aston Martin’s main financial backer has pledged to provide cash for a refreshed model lineup that the supercar maker plans to reveal at the Geneva auto show in March.
Investindustrial S.p.A., which bought a 37.5 percent stake in the British manufacturer in 2012, will invest fresh cash in Aston Martin if needed, said Andrea Bonomi, the private-equity firm’s chairman.
A Renault executive revealed the output expectations for the automaker’s Alpine-badged sports car.
“In terms of scale, on average [annual production] volume will be about 3,000 cars, with a peak of 5,000 initially due to the novelty factor,” Alpine head Bernard Ollivier told Reuters in an interview. The car will be built by Alpine in a Renault plant outside Dieppe starting next year.
Hyundai has begun production of the latest version of its European top-seller, the New i30, at its European production facility, in Nošovice, Czech Republic.
New i30 follows the company’s strategy to create cars that are tailored to the needs of European customers.
