The results from February’s Moving Traffic Offences Scheme are now available for Cardiff.
There have been 640 more fines issued for bus lane violations in February, compared with Januarys’ figures. 6832 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued compared with 6192 PCNs.
There has been a significant increase in the number of PCNs issued for drivers blocking traffic by stopping in yellow box junctions. Up from 167 PCNs in January to 689 PCN’s in February. This is due to the Council enforcing two yellow box junctions in the city centre, on both Mary Anne Street and on David Street.
The contraventions recorded from the camera car, which mainly focuses on illegal parking around schools, has decreased compared with the previous month. Dropping from 444 offences in January to 405 in February.
