Road accidents where people suffered injuries in Wales dropped by 11% last year.
There were 4,921 such crashes in 2016 – 622 fewer than 2015, according to the Welsh Government’s annual report, but there was just a 1% drop in serious motorcycle accidents.
Fuel prices have fallen by 2p a litre for the second month in a row, data from the latest RAC Fuel Watch report reveals, and is considerably lower than it was in February when a litre of unleaded was around 120p and diesel 122p.
A litre of unleaded now costs 114.71p compared to 116.69p at the start of June and diesel has fallen slightly more at 2.2p a litre from 117.77p to 115.57p.
Police tracked and caught a stolen new Vauxhall Astra thanks to its OnStar system.
Once the vehicle was reported stolen, the OnStar operators were able to immobilise it at a petrol station, direct police and the thief was captured and has been sentenced to over ten months jail and disqualified.
