Ford and Renault have formed a partnership for passenger and commercial vehicles, starting with two affordable electric cars in Europe.
There will be two Ford-branded passenger electric vehicles based on Renault Group’s Ampere platform.
The cars will be manufactured by Renault Group in northern France, at the ‘ElectriCity’ facility and due in showrooms in 2028.
Additionally, the companies will explore the opportunity to jointly develop and manufacture Renault- and Ford-branded selected light commercial vehicles.
Previously, Ford and Fiat worked together on the Ka and 500 models in Europe. Such deals are more common in the van sector.
