Leading trailer company TIP Trailer Services has expanded its service proposition in South Wales with the recent double acquisition of Aim Hire Ltd and PADS Trailers.
In line with its progressive trailer rental and maintenance strategy, TIP acquired both businesses before the summer in order to enhance its network in this important area for road transport.
Mike Furnival, Managing Director, TIP Trailer Services comments, “South Wales and indeed the South West of England has been a key area for our business with many loyal customers over the past 50 years. We are committed to growing our service in this area and these two acquisitions will certainly strengthen our presence in South Wales.”
The initial acquisition was Aim Hire Ltd, the Newport based trailer rental specialists and as Mike Furnival says, “Aim Hire has a tremendous reputation in this area and we are delighted to welcome Chris Butt from Aim Hire to play a key role in our future development.”
One month later, TIP Trailer Services then acquired the business of P:A:D:S based in Barry, South Wales, the home town of the popular BBC comedy series ‘Gavin and Stacey’.
Mike Furnival continues, “Paul Andow, Clive Booth and the PADS team have successfully operated in this area for nearly forty years to build a successful trailer rental and maintenance business based securely around customer service. We are confident that we can add innovative new products to complement their great work over the years.”
The combined TIP South Wales business will now operate a four bay workshop, mobile service vans and run a rental fleet in excess of 600 units.
“Merging these two successful businesses with our own operation in South Wales provides us with the best people and the best platform to offer a more complete service to our customers in this important strategic area for TIP,” concludes Mike Furnival.
