A popular community bus service throughout rural west and mid Wales is being put off the road this month by Welsh Government.
Commenting on the news that thousands of people in West Wales could struggle to attend doctors’ appointments, go shopping or get to work when a rural bus service ends this month, Welsh Conservative Shadow Transport Minister, Natasha Asghar MS said, “Labour continues to cut bus services up and down Wales, leaving many people stranded and abandoned in their own communities.
“It makes no sense for the Labour Government to introduce anti-motorist policies like a ban on road building and blanket 20mph speed limits without introducing viable alternatives”
She added, “The Bwcabus service is vital for elderly and vulnerable people in the area, who will now struggle to go about their daily lives. Despite being eligible for a bus pass many residents won’t have a bus service to use, which is incredibly unfair.
“Other parts of the UK are benefitting from support from the UK Conservative Government with the £2 fare cap. Yet once again in Wales Labour push their anti-worker, anti-growth and anti-Welsh policies punishing people just trying to get from A to B.”
