Fleet use of checked, graded and provenanced recycled parts is being made faster and easier with a new partnership between epyx and The Green Parts Specialists.
The deal means fleets can choose from the supplier’s online catalogue of 350,000 recycled parts for delivery or select a “supply and fit” option for engines and gearboxes.
The supply and fit jobsheet can be easily logged onto epyx’s industry standard 1link Service Network service, maintenance and repair (SMR) platform.
All parts are checked to Vehicle Recyclers Association standards while The Green Parts Specialists, part of the Copart family of brands, are VRA certified and meet the BS10125 BSI Kitemark for vehicle damage repair.
Lewis Woolnough, sales director at The Green Parts Specialists, said, “There is growing fleet demand for recycled parts both from a cost point of view and because they are more environmentally friendly. This new partnership will help to satisfy that need.
“Fleets can easily search through our catalogue of recycled parts, the largest available in the UK, with every item checked, graded and provenanced to the highest available standards. Delivery is available next day on a nationwide basis from our hubs across the country, together with a 12-month warranty.”
In addition to their recycled parts offering, the ‘supply and fit’ service from The Green Parts Specialists is designed to help customers reduce costs, vehicle downtime, and environmental impact. Their team sources and tests high-quality engines and gearboxes from dismantled vehicles, offering a full turnkey service that includes collection, professional fitting by skilled technicians, and return – all within a week.
Lewis added, “Really, this deal has the potential to bring about a new era for recycled parts in the fleet sector, making fitted, high quality parts more accessible than ever before.”
In the new car sector, the SMMT reported buyer preferences have changed significantly over the years, from petrol to diesel to electrified but it seems that, when it comes to colour, change is glacial.
SMMT data published this week shows grey remained Britain’s most popular tint for the eighth year running, with more than a quarter of the 2.02 million new cars joining our roads last year coated in the shade – be it graphite grey, stone, meteor or another.
It symbolises the safe and cautious approach that many consumers take when it comes to making a major purchase – only the brave opting for turquoise or pink, for example, with fewer than 100 such cars registered last year.
More still prefer a monochrome finish with black proving Britain’s second most popular, while silver returning to the top five for the first time in a decade – pushing once prevalent red into sixth place. It was green, however, that attracted the greatest percentage growth, up 46.3% to cover almost 100,000 new cars
