Average pump prices fell by less than a penny in August ending two months of rises, says RAC Fuel Watch.
The average cost of a litre of unleaded petrol dropped by just 0.39p in the month, from 135.03p at the start to 134.64p on 31 August, with diesel down by 0.72p, from 142.92p to 142.2p at the end of the month.
Supermarket price reductions were similarly slight, with the average price of unleaded down 0.72p in August, from 131.49p to 131.26p, and diesel down 0.3p, from 139.11p to 138.81p.
Tesla has experienced a continued downturn in sales across several European markets in August, marking the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year declines.
Tesla faces stiff competition from China’s BYD and dealing with the repercussions of CEO Elon Musk’s high profile political activities and outspoken support for right-wing political parties and causes, reported Reuters and in France, data showed that new Tesla car registrations fell by 47.3% compared to the same month in the previous year, even as the overall car market saw a growth of around 2.2%.
Sweden witnessed an even more dramatic drop, with Tesla registrations plummeting over 84%, whereas Denmark reported a 42% decrease.
The Smart #2 is a new all-electric model for two people scheduled for showrooms in late 2026.
It will build on the strengths of the original fortwo small city car being made in conjunction with Geely.
