I’m fully charged and ready to go in this year’s EV Rally!
Bridgestone EMIA / Bridgestone Fleet Mobility and Webfleet are pioneers in sustainable mobility solutions, so to be with both teams on day 1 of this 1,200 rally means such a lot.
Some of the biggest brands in sustainability are taking part, but I couldn’t be in better – or safer hands than Bridgestone and Webfleet.
Webfleet’s on-board devices offer insights to determine who on the EV Rally is driving at an optimal level to maximise the EV performance.
Meanwhile, Bridgestone’s ‘EV Ready’ Turanza 6 tyre is perfectly suited to EVs, featuring low rolling resistance to save battery life and address range anxiety concerns, excellent control and higher wear tolerance.
In other words, we’re together in electric dreams!
Embarking on day 1 of the EV Rally from Cardiff to Bristol and London yesterday opened my eyes – and then some!
Clearly a big change in technology away from my old diesel, but a big change in my mindset too.
Planning journeys to encompass charging points, driving diligently to preserve range – with a byproduct of safer highway practices – and leaning on some wonderful apps for guidance were three of many points noted.
From being in Webfleet‘s van, I learnt about their on-board solutions to improve driver safety, while maximising performance behind the wheel.
And then there’s the tyres…
Yes, they’re all black and round and look largely similar, but don’t let appearances deceive you. Bridgestone EMIA‘s ‘EV Ready’ Turanza 6 is in a different league.
‘A’ rated for wet performance, they kept us in control in all conditions today and allowed us to extract more from each charge thanks to it’s superior rolling resistance performance.
As my boy broke up for school on Friday it feels like I went back today, learning so, so much from expert teacher Graham Gardner MARRM MAFP M.ISP.
