Wales’s new car sales rose to 5,246 models last month, according to figures today from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Ford regained its lead in Wales after months of trailing rivals with significant registrations of the Puma SUV closely followed by Britain’s most popular small car, the Fiesta.
But only two registrations behind the Fiesta was the MG ZS and Volkswagen filled the next two places with Polo and Golf.
The second half of the top ten was led by the Kia Sportage and Toyota Yaris on identical figures while the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Crossland also tied in joint seventh place and then the Ford Kuga and Mercedes A-Class also completed the top rankings with identical registrations.
The top ten accounted for 1,288 registrations in a month which eventually topped 5,246.
