M4 drivers who break variable speed limits around Newport now face prosecution.
The system was installed five years ago but only this year was it disclosed no-one had been prosecuted.
Now GoSafe will begin sending out penalty notices and taking court action if necessary.
A 50mph fixed camera monitored section of the M4 at Port Talbot has resulted in hundreds of drivers being fined.
