For the first time a British motor show is offering electric car test-drives from a range of leading manufacturers all in the one place – plus many makes and models of electric motorbikes and bicycles.
The event takes place at Malvern Theatres and Priory Park in Great Malvern on Sunday and also features talks from some of the leading lights in the electric vehicle world including the actor, presenter and electric car enthusiast Robert Llewellyn and Simon Crowfoot, the managing director of Britain’s leading electric car charging network, the Electric Highway.
Other exhibitors include Tesla, Team eRally, EcoCharger Quads, Street Bike UK/ Zero Motorcycles, ChargedEV, Electric Classic Cars, Union Motion and the team from the BMW i3 Land’s End to John O’Groats land speed record.
Simon Crowfoot, managing director of the Electric Highway, said: “This unique event will enable members of the public to test drive a range of the latest models of electric car from the world’s top manufacturers all in one place.
“It doesn’t take long to persuade a petrol-head to ditch the internal combustion engine. Once you put your foot down on the accelerator of even an entry level electric car, you feel the instant torque and realise that electric cars are the future. So we’re looking forwards to turning heads and changing minds next weekend.”
The free show has been running since 2014 and last year featured cars from BMW, Nissan, Renault, Mitsubishi, Morgan, Porsche and Tesla, as well as electric bikes, motorbikes and planes.
