Leading tyre specialist Michelin and local Michelin Accredited Partner, Huw Lewis Tyres, has donated a set of tyres to the Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team to keep its emergency response vehicle safe both on and off the road.
Huw Lewis Tyres, a Michelin Accredited Partner based at the Maglona Garage in Machynlleth, was approached by the search and rescue team who needed new tyres for its emergency response vehicle.
Due to the importance of the service they provide, Michelin and Huw Lewis donated a set of Michelin Latitude Cross tyres to the Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team to ensure they could carry out their work on any terrain without being hampered by tyre performance.
The donation from Michelin will not only enable the rescue team to continue to respond to emergencies in the Snowdonia and Mid Wales area safely, but it has also saved the team hundreds of pounds in charitable donations that are used to fund the service.
Huw Lewis, owner of Huw Lewis Tyres, said, “When the Search and Rescue team approached us, we really wanted to help them beyond just giving them advice.
“The service they provide for the area is incredibly valuable, and we are really happy that we could get involved and give the volunteers something back in return for all their hard work.”
Nigel Williams, Michelin regional sales manager, added, “We were aware of the great work that the Search and Rescue team do for the area so wanted to show our support through this donation.
“The response vehicle is vital to them, and the Latitude Cross tyres will help the van deal with whatever conditions are thrown at it – allowing the team to carry out their crucial role in the community.”
