Charging Times
“Public stations tend to be busiest during peak hours (midday and evenings). Utilise apps like PlugShare or A Better Routeplanner to check station availability and plan charges for off-peak hours, like early mornings or late evenings.”
Plan Your Route
“Don’t wait till your battery’s about to die! These apps can also help identify charging stations along your route and factor in charging time when calculating trip duration.”
Home Charging
“Having a Level 2 charger installed at home is ideal. This allows you to charge overnight for most daily commutes, saving you time and avoiding public stations altogether.” And it works out much cheaper too with VAT about a quarter what it is at public points.
Explore Apps
“Some charging networks offer apps that let you see real-time wait times and even reserve a spot in line remotely. Check with your preferred charging station provider to see if this option exists.”
Consider Alternatives
“If you’re in a real pinch and the wait is unbearable, explore alternative charging options. Some public parking garages or even dealerships might offer charging stations. Remember, always be courteous and inquire about proper usage if using a private charger.”
