The British round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship is moving from Lydden Hill to Silverstone next year.
The move comes at a pivotal time in rallycross history with the sport due to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year and continue its rapid growth.
The sport started at Lydden Hill in 1967 as a created for television event and the modern format dates from 2014.
Paul Bellamy, World RX Managing Director at IMG, said, “We have been in talks internally at IMG for some time about creating a large scale motorsport festival weekend and we are delighted that Silverstone is able to share our vision for the future.”
