A new programme introduced by epyx helps franchise dealers increase the chances of selling “sticky” aged and non-brand stock.
When these cars approach the dealer’s stocking time limit, the epyx account management team for 1link Disposal Network adds it to the platform, meaning that it becomes available to trade buyers as well as the dealer’s retail customers through other channels.
David Goodyear, commercial director, said, “The programme gives dealers the opportunity to dual market the vehicle as it approaches its stocking limit.
“So, if a dealer has a 45 day stocking policy and the vehicle has not sold after 38 days on their forecourt, they can make it available on 1link Disposal Network for a trade sale for the last seven days.
“The vehicle is still on display if a retail customer wants it but they can also make a trade deal. The benefits are that it avoids the dealer having to move the vehicle to auction if it doesn’t sell, costs are lower and the cash is returned more quickly.”
Making the car available on 1link Disposal Network meant that it became available to a community of thousands of trade buyers.
