Real Italian Cars has ushered in its new electric future with classic Fiat 500s at the Bologna Auto Moto d’Epoca show, the largest classic car show in Europe.
Founded just over a year ago, the company exhibited its new all-electric Fiat 500 Jolly beach car, called the Marina.
This model, made fashionable by the Italian jet set in the 1960s, is now powered by a 31.5-kW electric motor that delivers a range of approximately 250 kilometres and an electronically-limited top speed of 70mph taking about six seconds to accelerate from 0-50mph.
The car has been extensively re-engineered to cope with the extra performance, with upgraded suspension and Abarth-derived brakes, and takes approximately 40 minutes to charge using a fast charger. The total weight remains less than 1000 kilograms.
The open Marina costs from €50,000 while the familiar hatchback is about €35,000 and they come with a three year warranty.
