The updated Volkswagen Golf is open for order in the UK.
It comes with the option of all-new engines, more technology, improved connectivity and revised styling for an average of £650 less than the outgoing car when deliveries begin end of March.

Unite has told members at the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant that company chiefs have still not told them what will happen with an estimated 1,300 surplus jobs due to the end of production of two engines in 2020 and an announced reduction in investment in the new Dragon engine.
Unite said they have “major concerns and worries” over the plant’s future and accused Ford of showing “contempt” for employees while the company said in a statement that the anticipated production volume of engines from Bridgend remains healthy in the upcoming years, with associated labour requirements expected to be similar to today’s level.
