
A giant artwork of Her Majesty the Queen created entirely out of car and truck parts, has been unveiled ahead of the monarch’s 90th birthday on Thursday.
The technical tribute utilises over 800 individual components by car servicing giant Kwik Fit’s and recognises Her Majesty’s contribution to the Second World War, when she trained and served as an Army mechanic in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service.
Rally driver Mark Higgins will attempt to set a new lap record from 2 May for a car around the Isle of Mann TT course in a specially built Subaru WRX STi after a similar car took 19m.15sec in 2014.
The current absolute lap record has been set by John McGuinness on a Honda CBR1000RR last year in 17m. 03.567s at 132.701mph.
Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles has joined the Made in Britain campaign and marked the partnership by adding the official badge to all Vauxhall Vivaro models that are built in Luton.
The Made in Britain Campaign was founded in 2011 with the aim of helping everyone identify British-made products and the not-for-profit campaign now includes thousands of products from over 700 members.
