More car camkers face being dragged into recalling models which could be hacked and controlled from outside the vehicle, it has been learned.
Cybersecurity issues led Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to recall 1.4 million vehicles last month but safety analysts now believe this could spread to other car makers who used the same supplier software in their communications systems and Mark Rosekind, who heads the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, said his watchdog agency is trying to determine how many car makers received wireless components from the same company that supplied Fiat Chrysler.
