iCarhireinsurance.com was told more than half of UK drivers (54%) admit they are “frequently frustrated” by other road users, 41% are rarely frustrated, 4% say they’re always frustrated – and only 1% claim they’re never frustrated, according to the poll of 958 motorists.
More than a quarter (27%) said a lack of courtesy, such as not letting others out at junctions, frustrates them while nearly one in four (24%) are also irritated when drivers fail to say thank you.
The car insurance experts found that 4% of UK drivers are unaware that their car insurance policy has an expiry date – the equivalent of 1.6 million people.
MoneySuperMarket’s car insurance expert, Alicia Hempsted, warns that neglecting to check your policy expiry date could have serious consequences, as if you’re found to be driving without valid insurance, you could be fined a minimum of £300, receive six penalty points on your licence, and in some cases, be disqualified from driving.
By October 2025 year-to-date (YTD), new EU car registrations increased by 1.4% compared to the same period last year, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth.
Despite this recent positive momentum, overall volumes remain far below pre-pandemic levels. The battery-electric car market share reached 16.4% YTD, yet it is still below the pace needed at this stage of the transition, while hybrid-electric vehicles lead as the most popular power type choice among buyers, with plug-in hybrids continuing to gain momentum.
