Doubts have been expressed that Transport for Wales will be able to cope with the normal services while the Capital hosts major pop concerts.
Responding to the news that this year will be the busiest for events in decades with Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters playing and other major events which will see thousands flock to Cardiff, Natasha Asghar MS, Shadow Transport Minister, said, “The Labour run TfW and overall public transport services in Wales are not good enough, with a recent Senedd committee report confirming as much.
“Although the system appeared to cope during a bank holiday Bruce Springsteen concert earlier this month, mix in the weekday commuters with the Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift concerts later this summer and you have the recipe for potential chaos.
“With the significant boost these events provide to the economy, these issues need to be ironed out if artists continue to choose our fantastic capital city as one of their tour stops.”
