Jaguar Land Rover has been severely disrupted by a cyber-strike.
The Liverpool Echo reports the car maker owned by India’s Tata Motors took immediate action to lessen the effect of the hack and is working quickly to restart operations, including telling workers not to come in on Monday.
There was no evidence any customer data had been stolen, it said. Neither is it clear if there has been a demand for money, but this did happen in recent similar attacks on major retail businesses.
The attack began on Sunday and comes at a significant time for UK car sales, as the latest batch of new registration plates became available on Monday 1 September.
