Faulty vehicles and poor dealer servicing are the biggest problem people have says Citizens Advice.
Over the last year it has dealt with just over 60,800 complaints about faulty used cars and servicing, three times the complaints about mobile phone services.
In the same time the level of problems with parking enforcement on private land has gone up 25%, mainly over the hefty charges they face from private companies enforcing the landowners rights.
We are also more willing to complain says CA and it has seen their website attract twice the number of views as before and now passed four million.
Gillian Guy, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice, said, “Consumers should feel in the driving seat when things go wrong.
“The second hand car industry must make sure that the goods it sells fit legal requirements, and to provide comprehensive information about the vehicle so consumers can make an informed decision.”
