Motorcycle insurance providers, Express Insurance Services, have launched a new campaign to celebrate a resurgence in motorcycle riding.
The idea is to create a definitive guide to motorcycling in the UK, where a new interactive map will be created to chart the UK’s best routes, biker-friendly businesses, garages and themed events.
Teaming up with track-legend Steve Parrish, bikers across the country are being encouraged to enter their favourite routes on http://www.expressinsurance.co.uk/bikers-guide. The former British Motorcycle Championship winning motorcyclist will then be judging the best routes based on points of interest and photos, thus promoting local attractions as well as the Great British roads.
On the project, Steve said, “I am really excited about this competition as I’ve spent my life visiting events, tracks and races all around the UK; however, I’ve never really taken the time to properly explore our beautiful country.Anytime I have been on a great biking road with fantastic views I’m usually in too much of a hurry to enjoy it!Therefore I am hoping to have a chance to find that perfect road trip through our competition entries – we can then pass these onto the rest of the biking world for them to enjoy too!”
The winning routes will be compiled into an interactive map, while prizes are 7 pairs of weekend tickets to Goodwood Revival Meeting with one lucky winner also picking up a year’s free bike insurance.
Stewart Barnett, Head of Marketing at Express Insurance Services, said, “With fuel costs coming down and new bike registrations up, this is a great time to ask bikers across the country to share their favourite routes. By partnering with the Goodwood Revival meeting and biking legend Steve Parrish, we’re excited to play our part in helping bikers to safely enjoy this country’s many fantastic scenic roads. We can’t wait to see the entries flooding in!”
The campaign coincides with a record year for bike insurance sales with the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) year-end figures for new motorcycle registrations showing sales for 2014 were up 10% compared to 2013, with an increase every single month throughout the year.
