Wales has seen a dramatic turn-around in new car sales and bucked the national downward trend of this year.
SMMT registration figures for November show a 7.62% leap to over 6,000 new models last month compared to 5,579 a year ago in Wales.
Across the UK as a whole there has been a continuing decline and registrations dipped 1.24% to 156,621 new cars, with Scotland suffering a 4.21% drop and the steepest.
Nationwide, sales of pure electric vehicles rose an impressive 228.8% with 4,652 units. Petrol grew 2.0% and diesel declined -27.2%. While private demand declined 6.1%, fleet rose 2.8%, reported the National Franchised Dealers Association.
Wales top ten cars in November were:
Corsa, Fiesta, Kuga, Astra, Focus, Ecosport, MGZS, Polo, Qashqai and MB A-Class.
UK best sellers last month were:
Corsa, Kuga, Fiesta, Golf, Focus, A-Class, Qashqai, MINI, Polo and Tiguan.
