Using FOI requests to 50 UK councils, Rivervale Leasing has investigated 21,106 vehicles reported abandoned during 2021 to find out the most common and where this is happening most frequently.
The Ford Transit was the most commonly abandoned vehicle by a long way but the top dumped car compared to their total registrations was the Suzuki Vitara and in Wales the survey showed Swansea had the highest number of dumped vehicles with 258, a long way ahead of Cardiff on 99 and Newport just 43.
RAC says it now costs on average >£95 to fill a family car with petrol and >£100 with diesel.
RAC fuel spokesperson Simon Williams said: “Average fuel prices increased again over the weekend causing petrol and diesel both to rise to new record levels. Unleaded climbed to 172.73p a litre on Sunday which means a full 55-litre tank has now gone above £95 for the first time, while diesel reached at a new all-time high on Saturday at 182.71, taking a complete fill-up over the £100 threshold.
