Re-running the Cannonball is an intriguing fly-on-the-wall short from Channel 4.
The 2904 is a low budget, long distance endurance car race from New York to Los Angeles for those who scorn the Gumball Rally, and based on the now infamous Cannonball Run races, which took place across the US in the 1970s. The name ‘2904’ is also the dollar budget set by the race organisers, to include the purchase price of the car, fixing it up, fuelling it, food for the road – and the cost of any speeding tickets picked up along the way!
