Aston Martin was given a £5.8 Million repayable loan by Welsh Government to set up its new factory at St Athan.
The amount was confirmed after the Information Commissioner ordered Welsh Government to release the details following a complaint by a Welsh businessman into the secrecy around the deal.
The luxury car maker will build its newest sports car in a hanger which is being converted into a modern vehicle assembly hall on the site over the next 12 months.
Eventually about 750 people will work on site building a new generation of sports cars.
The loan is a very small percentage of the total amount the company is spending on the facility. The investment is said to be costing the car maker about £200 Million and it’s already opened its supply list worth £60 Million to Welsh companies.
