A new TrawsCymru bus service will be launched today after it was awarded funding of £2.1million from the Welsh Government.
TrawsCymru, the long distance bus service in Wales, will run 12 new buses on the key T4 and T14 services linking Newtown and Hereford/Hay-on-Wye with Brecon, Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff.
Newport’s new traffic wardens are being given free bus travel to tackle street parking violations.
It is hoped the clampdown will help keep bus routes clear and encourage more people to use public transport.
Four months of rising fuel prices finally came to an end in June with the price of both petrol and diesel falling dramatically due to the cost of oil dipping to $62, according to RAC Fuel Watch .
The average price unleaded dropped 3p a litre from 130.67p to 127.62p while diesel reduced 4.61p from 135.51p to 130.90p – the ninth biggest monthly reduction in the price of a litre of diesel since 2000.
