Plans for 7,000 new homes northwest of Fairwater and 400 homes planned in Llandaff, Cardiff will push traffic to unacceptable levels in the surrounding areas, says the leader of Welsh Conservatives, Andrew R T Davies.
He’s urged Cardiff council to tackle traffic congestion ahead of the building the £2bn Plasdwr scheme and smaller project on the site being left by BBC Wales, but council planners say there will be improved public transport and road developments to mitigate the increase.
A project to widen the country lane linking M4 J34 with the A48 near Bonvilston will be outlined at public exhibitions this week at Miskin and St Nicholas.
The scheme, which has been in the pipeline for over a decade, is designed to reduce congestion on surrounding roads, notably the A4232 link to the M4 J33.
