There are just days to go if you want to support a UK campaign to amend EU-proposed new motor-sport insurance legislation.
The Motorsport Industry Association is concerned that the new legislation would endanger all forms of motorsport. It would make it compulsory for all drivers, including those competing in motorsport, to have unlimited third-party insurance.
This would mean that all motorsport vehicles must have insurance that would cover personal injury to other competitors during any event anywhere in the EU, in an accident. The new move threatens the entire motorsport industry in the UK and Europe and thousands of jobs as competition would be illegal without insurance.
However, because of the high risks involved in motorsport, no such insurance policy is currently available.
The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union is due to vote on this before the end of the year and the closing date for any comments is Tuesday 27 November.
